Recently, Spanish singer Rosalía has been taking over the global pop scene. This year alone, she’s been nominated for 3 VMAs and the video for “Con Altura” has gotten over 756 million views. Not too long ago, she dropped her new song “Yo x Ti, Tu x Mi” with Ozuna. Rosalía has been getting a lot of hype, so I wanted to review this song out of pure interest. Without further ado, let’s get to it.

The song starts with a steel drum-like sound. I love how the beginning gives me Caribbean vibes. It makes me excited for the rest of the song. As Rosalía sings, the single gets more alluring. Her voice goes with the beat really well. There’s also the chorus of “Yo por ti, tu por mi” (“Me for you, you for me”) in the beginning. It occurs in the other parts of the song, but I’m not a big fan of the chorus. For me, it feels a little weak and doesn’t really get me moving. Based on the title alone, I bet that the song is pretty romantic. And based on the translated English lyrics, I can tell that it is.
Another thing is that it seems like Ozuna is in every Spanish language song nowadays. I don’t even know that many Spanish songs, but it seems like he’s in many of the ones that I end up hearing. His role in the song isn’t bad. Then again, I don’t really care for him and think that it would’ve been fine without him.
Overall, this song was okay. As said earlier, I love the Carribean vibes and Rosalía’s voice fits the song. However, it doesn’t really get me grooving along. It doesn’t bang as hard as “MALAMENTE” or even “Con Altura”. I may check out more of Rosalía’s discography, but I am hoping that she puts out another bop someday.
